After a very disappointing season, many felt there was a need for a change. Gene Deflippo was one with that point of view. After firing a tenured coach in Al Skinner, the coaching search began. After few fell out of the running, there seemed to be a clear favorite.
Steve Donaghue was introduced today as the new head coach at Boston College. Donaghue coached at Cornell for 10 years. Leading the Big Red to three straight Ivy League titles in the past three years. Fans hope that Donaghue will bring a new excitement to the Conte Forum that we did not find last year. I think he has the potential to be a great coach at the heights, but only time will tell. Can he live up to expectations in the ACC? Can he keep BC as a serious contender in the ACC? We shall see. I am excited. All BC fans should be excited for this one. We’ve got ourselves a coach!!
